Lana Rousseau lived a blessed life. She had come a long way from that small town fairy princess who lost her parents. Paris was her dream and she was living it with a husband who loved her and two beautiful children. She'd had no real hardships since the day she left Smallville, and for that she was very thankful.
There were times, however, that the happiness she had felt—incomplete. When she would wake in the middle of the night to feed the baby, she would look at Pierre and feel something she couldn't explain, like she was looking at the ghost of something she couldn't place. She loved him more than she'd ever loved anyone and she wouldn't trade him for anyone else, but—there was something missing. It wasn't something that would replace this life, she knew, but something that would enrich it, push it from simple happiness to complete bliss.
Of course, she didn't know what that piece of the puzzle was, so she pushed those little feelings away. She still had her family and a purpose in life. That was enough for anyone.
