Today, I thought my boyfriend and I were finally going to have the kind of relationship and life I'd always wanted. Then my real boyfriend came home and told me it was just his evil twin and he'd been gone for weeks. FML.

[ooc: So I was kind of wanted to create a FML place for muses...then I got lazy. This'll do for now, right?]

I'm not afraid to cry every once in a while even though
Goin' on with you gone still upsets me
There are days every now and again I pretend I'm okay
But that's not what gets me

Lana was sitting there by herself, carefully drawing a picture of a horse. She liked to draw, she decided, and since she liked horses so much, that should be what she drew. It was a brown horse with a star on his face. A very pretty one, she thought.

When she looked up from her paper, she saw something that was not very pretty at all. It was gross. Very, very gross.

Her friend caught the look of ick on her face and came to join her.

"What?"

"Chloe! You kissed him!"

Chloe grinned big. "Yep!"

"But he's a boy."

"I know. I think he's cute."

"I'll never kiss a boy," Lana said as she went back to her drawing. "Especially not Clark."

Chloe glanced back at the farm boy, now hiding his head in a book. "Suit yourself."

Of all the traditions they'd started together, Lois and Lana's favorite was dragging Clark to the Planet's annual Christmas party.

"There's no such thing as polishing the raised scepter of love too much. It reduces stress, it enhances immune function."

Lana grunted from her place on the concrete, trying to carefully push herself back with her scraped up hands so she could rest herself against the brick wall just a few inches behind her. She squinted back at where the demon had been to find just a small scattering of ash and the athame she'd thrown toward him, then turned her attention to her bloody hands.

Only a second or two after she called she saw the orbs of white swirl in the air, then his tall form standing over her. Kneeling down beside her, he stretched his hands out over hers, and she watched that all familiar glow, his power closing her wounds. As he continued, sensing just where she was hurting, even those places not visible to his eye, she recalled a conversation they'd had not so long ago.

Bonus #1: Select five people from your muse's f-list and have them list five reasons for each person why they're thankful they know them.

[ooc: Multiple verses in this post, including canon. That said, not binding to any muse unless noted. As I have several verses that crossover with Supernatural, I won't specify which unless it's specific to a certain verse.]

Exactly twenty years ago, Lewis and Laura Lang died in Smallville's first meteor shower, and like every year she could remember, Lana had trouble getting to sleep. This year, however, it seemed harder. No matter how she tried to relax, her mind just didn't want to wind down. When it was almost four, she gave up and rolled out of bed, heading straight for the shower.

As the water soaked her hair, she considering staying home from work, but quickly dismissed it. She'd already spent nearly a full two weeks away in the past month. Skipping out at the first sign of trouble had become a bad habit of hers. Though she was sure she had needed her impromptu vacation, her yearly case of insomnia wasn't an excuse to call in.

It's a Motherfucker
Being here without you
Thinking 'bout the good times
Thinking 'bout the bad
And I won't ever be the same

Both of them knew the truth, the events of the past year had made it obvious. Clark Kent and Lana Lang just weren't meant to end up together. It was admitting it to themselves that had been the struggle. She was the one to make the break, and it was the hardest thing she'd ever had to do.

Until he left for the Fortress and didn't come back.

He'd told her she was welcome to stay as long as she wanted, so that's what she did. She stayed at the farm and waited for him to come home, but day after day the house was empty. Some nights she would lay in his bed and just cry. She hoped he was still out there somewhere, but what if he wasn't? How would she deal with that?

How would the world deal with that?

[ooc: Normally this would be locked, but Lana has been lacking in interaction lately, so in an effort to jumpstart that, I'm leaving it open. Please keep all of that to this post and out of any continuity unless the both of us agree otherwise.]

1. It's not your fault. Stop blaming yourself.
2. You want to see the best in people. That's great, but even fairytales have villains.
3. Nell loves you. Stop taking her for granted.
4. Dean Winters is not the enemy.
5. Neither is Clark Kent.
6. When you have a gut feeling, don't ignore it. It's usually right.
7. Don't stay in a relationship you know doesn't work just because you're afraid of being alone.
8. All this will be worth it someday.
9. For the love of God, cut your hair. It looks better shorter.
10. Don't get married. Just don't.

Do you catch a breath when I look at you?
Are you holding back like the way I do?
Cause I've tried and tried to walk away
But I know this crush ain't going away

It was nearing two months since she'd discovered she was pregnant. She was finally getting used to the idea of being a parent, even though it still scared her if she let herself dwell a little too long. She made every attempt to reduce stress, to take things a little easier, which meant less work and more sleep. The morning sickness was beginning to give way to random and sometimes very strange cravings, and there always seemed to be a man around trying to wait on her. Clark was the worst of them. If she could have punched him without hurting herself, she would, but instead she settled for scowling.

However, mood swings and unconventional pizza toppings were the least of her concerns.

While she carried the child of one Winchester, she was developing feelings for the other. It felt so wrong, given the situation, but she couldn't help herself. Sam was just someone she could sit and talk to for hours on end, intelligent and sensitive with the dorkiest sense of humor, but that's why he could make her laugh no matter which direction her hormones decided to drag her. There were times when he looked at her that her chest tightened and she could barely breathe, times when he touched her that her whole body would warm on contact. There were times when she wanted so badly to kiss him, even thought maybe he wanted the same, but she didn't. Her chance with him had gone with that one bad choice, so she would learn to ignore this, and one day, it would go away.

No, no it wouldn't. She'd be lying to herself if she said it would. This dancing around him was already driving her insane and it just seemed to be getting worse. Her mind told her she shouldn't, but she just had this suspicion that someday soon her mood was going to swing his way, and she had no idea how she was going to deal with it.

It’s that same old song again
I hate it cause it's true

She had no idea how long she'd been trapped here. The last indication, a year and a half, was given to her by Lex, but that was months ago. How many was the question. The days all blurred into one another, no sunlight to indicate when one day began and the other ended, and no matter how much she'd steeled herself against it, the isolation was starting to get to her.

He didn't visit every day anymore. The decline was slow, but in her mind, deliberate. On the good days, she could care less. On the bad days, she missed him terribly. Lana needed that human connection as much as she needed water to drink, and he was the only one who ever stayed longer than a minute. She hated it, but she wanted him there.

The bad days got worse. Soon she didn't just want his presence. She wanted something more intimate, more physical. She took care of that burning on her own, but it didn't satisfy her very long. She needed the touch of another person. She had long given up on Clark, not that he ever touched her much to begin with. It was Lex who filled her thoughts, and the more time that passed, the more desperate she was for him.

One day he opened the cage and joined her, locking the door behind him. Though he wasn't accompanied by the usual guard or two, she didn't even consider running. Her eyes were completely focused on him. He had her right where he wanted her, and he knew it.

It wasn't long before clothes were dropping to the floor, before he was grabbing her by her hair and shoving her face first into the wall. She wished she could say she wasn't enjoying it, that she could stop the loud moaning and cursing that came from her mouth, but she couldn't. She was enjoying every second of it.

When it was over, Lana let herself sink to her knees, breathlessly leaning against the wall for support. She felt his arms go around her as he leaned forward and whispered in her ear.

"Come back to me. Be my wife again."

She felt that final piece of her will break as she answered in a way she never dreamed she would.

"Anything for you, Lex."
manorsuperman: (thoughtful)
Lana pushed the end button on her cell. It had taken her a few hours, but she finally called Clark. She needed someone to talk to before Dean and Sam got there the next day. Chloe was in Star City, Pete was God knows where...so Clark was the only one left. She wasn't exactly sure how he was going to react to the news, but she knew he still cared and always would, that he would be there for support whenever she needed it.

She plopped down on the couch. If he was at home, he was only a mile away, now that she was back in her old house next to the farm. Not that it really mattered. No matter where he was, she expected him any second. As worried as he would be after hearing she was clearly distressed about something, he wouldn't spare the superspeed.
