Surprise Visit for [livejournal.com profile] metroshutterbug

Another rainy day the match her mood.

Months had passed since she left Smallville, Metropolis, and Clark Kent behind. She hadn't gone far, wasn't really hiding even though she was basically in the middle of nowhere. He hadn't chased after her last time, so she trusted he wouldn't try this time either. She was close, for Chloe's sake, so she could visit if she wanted. Sure, Lana could be there in a matter of seconds from just about anywhere, but better if Chloe came to her. Lana was giving off a massive amount of meteor radiation, and she wanted to stay away from anyone not already infected as much as she possibly could.

When a knock came from the front door, that's exactly who she was expecting: Chloe. She was the only one who she'd told about where she was.

She was more than surprised.

"...Jimmy?"

He stood there, eyes dark and sunk back in his head a little. For lack of better words, he probably looked like shit.

"L-Lana. Hi."

He managed to get the words out, suddenly looking nervous. He hadn't been this nervous when he'd first come up with this idea.

He shook his head, looking frantic and possibly like he was panicking.

"No... I... Lana, I... I need your help." He paused for a moment, and when he spoke again, his voice was shaking. "I... I don't know anybody else..."

Normally, he'd thank her for allowing him to come inside, but given his current state, he couldn't exactly think clear enough to do so.

He looked around, hoping she didn't have company. "Are... are you alone?"

He nodded slowly, relating to her comment well. He was glad she was alone, honestly. Made things a little easier, especially because of the question he was about to ask.

"Um... could I... c-crash here for the night? I... I got kicked out of my apartment, and have nowhere to go..."

It was the truth. He'd gotten evicted, because his new little side job at the Ace of Clubs wasn't footing the bill, and now he was alone, and couldn't bear the thought of spending the night in his car. Not only that, he was hoping he might be able to convince her to lend him some money. His stash is starting to run low.
