[ooc: Set several hours after this thing that we started a long friggin time ago. Should have gotten this up sooner.]

It had been a long drive from Smallville to wherever it was they were now. Honestly, Lana hadn't been paying attention. There had been a little talking in the car, but she had mostly listened to whatever conversation was going on, fiddled with her phone or iPod...or watched Sam from the corner of her eye. She couldn't exactly put her finger on it, but there was something very familiar about him, like she'd met him somewhere before. But if she had, she was sure she would have remembered him.

Now they were all settling into their rooms. As she expected, Chloe was wholly set on sharing a room with Dean instead of her. Hopefully there wouldn't be too much noise filtering in from the other side of the wall.

Lana set her bag on one of the beds and sat beside it, starting to pull off her shoes and make herself comfortable.

"We could create fake lives?" Sam smirked a bit.

She smiled, almost laughed. "So we're spies now?"

"If you want that as a part of your fake life... sure, why not?"

[manorsuperman]

This time, she did laugh, or more like a giggle. "I don't know. Maybe, maybe not." She was starting to get her appetite back, so she took a bite of her lo mein. "What about you? How's your fake life?"

"Oh my fake life is fantastic, actually. Just got my second novel published and one of my tv pilots is being shot out in Hollywood. Got to have dinner with Angelina Jolie just the other day."

His smile grew.

"Angelina Jolie?" Her smile was big and bright. "I might be jealous."

[likely_evil]

"Don't worry, no casting couch. She's got enough little kids running around as it is to risk it." He gave an innocent shrug.

She giggled again, going for the eggroll now. "Probably for the best. I wouldn't want to have to hurt her," she said playfully.

"So you're a possessive, jealous type in this fake life. I see," he chuckled.

"Well, I've found that you can get away with things like that in fake lives."

[likely_evil]

"So if I happen to have a dinner date with Angelina set up for say, next week... you would...?"

[manorsuperman]

"Fake me would threaten her to stay away from you, and go through with it if necessary, possibly using the real me's martial arts skills."

[likely_evil]

Sam just laughed, a bright smile breaking out on his face. "Remind me to videotape that. I'm sure it would make us a fake fortune on YouTube."

She giggled again. "Does fake you have any plans for anyone who hits on fake me?"

Sam sat back. "Depends. If Angelina Jolie hit on you, I might be all for it as long as I'm allowed to watch."

[manorsuperman]

"Hmm...I think I'd rather have Jessica Alba."

[likely_evil]

He sat back, pondering that. "Or that. I'm not picky."

His smile was complete teasing.

She laughed, again, because let's face it, this was the most amusing conversation she'd had in a while. This time she laughed so hard, she almost fell over.

He laughed as well. "And just so you know, the real and fake self will both point out that any fantasies your fake self has with me and another guy might as well die now, because we don't go that way."

[manorsuperman]

Lana smiled at him, eyes sparkling. "Well lucky for the both of you, the both of us have no interest in those sorts of fantasies."

"You don't know how happy that makes us." Sam grinned.

[manorsuperman]

Lana smiled, looking down at her plate. It was mostly empty, excepting maybe a small bit of lo mein and half a wanton. Honestly, she didn't feel like eating another bite.

Okay, so maybe she'd finish the wanton.

"I'm ready to go when you are."

His plate empty, he smiled and got up, grabbing the bill. "Then let's get going."

Lana returned his smile and got up. As they walked toward the front to pay, she absentmindedly slipped her hand into his.

He looked down at their hands when he felt hers, then gave a small smile and squeezed hers before he had to use that hand to get his wallet.
